My design quest started when I was a child. I loved drawing, sketching and painting but in high school, a friend insisted we enroll in yearbook as an elective because it would be fun and easy.
I realized: A) Yearbook isn’t easy. You are working with terrible clients (seniors with senioritis) and B) I loved it. Initially, I expected to attend college and study fine arts such as traditional painting but I decided to major in graphic design. 4 years later, I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Art History.
Since 2010, I have worked as a print graphic designer. In 2013, I began working in web. I’ve tried many other roles including project manager, web designer, production artist, illustrator, traditional medium artist and even journalist. I’ve worked in marketing, for a private clothing label magazine, a national oil company and freelance with my own design company, Delia Krimmel Designs.
My strong successes develop when working in an enthusiastic and collaborative environment: I lead a project, meet with the client and discuss with the team. I excel (and even enjoy) being under pressure and what helps me stay fresh and inspired is variety in my work and clients.
